Bio from Jade

My ultimate dream is to make my passion my job. I would really love to become a fulltime bike rider but I realize the road is long. I hope not to have any regrets later on knowing I did everything to get as far as possible. My dream race is the Tour of Flanders because that atmosphere doesn’t compare to anything else.

My biggest idol is Mathieu van der Poel and he has been since I was really young. He is such a phenomenon. I also look up to Marlen Reusser and not only because of her success in the sport. She recently graduated as doctor and I also hope to be able to combine my studies with the sport.

I got involved in cycling due to my brother who started racing. It was his circle of friends that got me into the sport when I was ten. I don’t really have a specific, clearly defined specialty but I love the hard races where you can really make a difference.

I hope to continue within the team as a professional bike rider but also as a person. Because racing takes up so much time the entire trajectory, I follow in the team automatically forms me as a person too. My ambitions match that of the team so I hope we achieve the highest possible together. My best result so far was the fourth place in Trofeo Binda in March.

For me respect is important: to the sports directors, carers and mechanics but also the management and to my teammates. I also feel we should respect the equipment we get. I value the people around me like my family, physio therapist and trainer. I know well that without them I would not be where I am. I am grateful to all of them.
