AG Insurance - NXTG completes the first stage of their first Tour de France Femmes.

All AG Insurance – NXTG riders have finished in the first stage of their first Tour de France Femmes. As expected, the pack gets into full action mode right from the start. After a small run-up, the peloton had to complete 13 laps on the Champs-Élysées for a total of 81 kilometers.

33 years after the last yellow jersey was awarded in the Tour de France for the women's peloton, AG Insurance-NXTG is at the start of which promises to be an iconic race. A huge opportunity for our team, which is also the youngest team in the pack.

"It was very hot! I prepared well by drinking and cooling a lot upfront.  Unfortunately, I was not able to follow a break-away group due to a mechanical problem and it was much harder to get back at the front because of the parcours" admits Lone Meertens after the finish. "We gathered too early as a team but we're not able to keep it up to the end and so we lost each other in the laps after. But the ambiance was great. There were so many spectators who cheered so loud. For sure, this is a big thing".

During our first Tour de France Femmes, our team is followed by HLN (Het Laatste Nieuws). We showed them how we prepare for such a big race and give our fans a special glimpse of our team like you've never seen us before.
